Home Styling Trend Book

In the second part of our home styling trend book, we focus on spring home styling and décor trends. With spring just around the corner, Melburnians are finally getting their fair share of sunshine.

As the cold winter fades, it’s time to refresh your home styling and décor too. Some winter colour palettes and décor elements transfer easily into the new season, while others are worth swapping for spring colours and textures.

Bright Colours

Spring is a time of renewal. Put away dark browns, blacks and greys, and bring in refreshing pastels and bright tones that let a room feel lighter the moment you walk in.

Our Favourite: Hues of Blue

Blue is an excellent transition colour from winter to summer. Deep-sea blues recall the ocean and sky; a few blue cushions or a rug brighten a space and make it feel ready for spring.

Use of Flowers & Plants

A small floral arrangement on a coffee table, or in a quiet corner, makes a big difference. Green plants and bright flowers lift the whole space and breathe life into a styled room.

Fabric & Textures

Pack away heavy wool and fur throws, and the dark knitted cushions that carried you through winter. Replace them with light, bright fabrics that catch the season’s softer light.

Paint a Room

A fresh colour — or just a new shade of the one you already love — refreshes both your mood and your home. It’s among the simplest ways to mark the turn of the season.

Final Touch — Update the Accessories

Swap heavy wooden pieces for glass vases and lighter tones. Bring in cane baskets for storage and décor, hanging baskets of flowers, and colourful hand towels to freshen the bathroom. Small changes, all season long.
